This is a place to see pretty quilts, be inspired by fellow quilters, and make friends from around the world! Here you'll find lots of places to share, ask questions, and learn more about quilting too.
Have you missed sharing your quilt along photos with a group?
For years my husband, Josh, and I hosted quilting groups on Facebook. It was wonderful to see everyone's blocks and see the quilts come together one month at a time. But the lack of safety and general negativity of that platform forced us to shut them down.
This new club is hosted off Facebook, in our own private space where only members of the Quilting Friends Club can participate.
Yes, this Quilting Club does cost extra.
Building a safe, secure place for us to hang out and have a good time isn't cheap. Managing an interactive, international group takes a lot of time and I want to be sure everyone who joins has a great experience.
Unlike Facebook, this platform is much better organized so you can share your posts and follow different topics.
In joining Leah's Quilting Friends Club, you're helping to support my family and business. I want to continue sharing free quilting tutorials and podcasts. Building this club is helping me feel supported by the quilting community as well.
My name is Leah Day and I'm a quilter.
I love making quilts of all sizes and styles. In past years I've focused on show quilting; these days I love making softer, simpler quilts for my couch and bed.
But what I love most is making friends with new quilters. I even host a podcast called Hello My Quilting Friends which has helped me make lots of new quilting friends over the last two years.
I had an amazing hand quilting experience this past year at Hart Square and I realized that quilting was traditionally a group activity. Women gathered around a quilting frame to stitch together, share their lives, ideas, and struggles along the way.
My goal with this quilting club is to create that same fun, supportive space for quilters from around the world. And no, you don't have to dress up in historical costume to participate!
The internet seems to have become a lot less fun lately. I've personally noticed a dramatic increase in rudeness in comments and posts on many different platforms.
So if you're here to troll or exercise your Quilting Police badge, please find another place to hang out.
This is another reason why I've felt the need to charge the fee to join. Just $2.99 per month helps keep this group filled with members who want to have fun and help support this community.
Even better, this platform is available both on your computer as a website: QuiltFriends.Club, and as a mobile app. Pick the method you like best and enjoy this club whether you're on your computer or on the go!
I can't wait to see the quilt you're working on and answer any questions you have about quilting. This space is made for quilters by a quilter and Josh and I will do our best to make this a fun place to be!
Let's go quilt,
